About

G. ELISE PAULSEN IS A MOTION GRAPHICS DESIGNER, VIDEOGRAPHER, PHOTOGRAPHER AND EX-FORMALLY-TRAINED-ENGINEERING STUDENT. SHE ENJOYS TRAVELLING AROUND THE WORLD, EATING GREAT FOOD WHEREVER SHE GOES, AND LEARNING ABOUT HOW SHE CAN CREATE MORE ART EVERYDAY.

SHE HAS PROVEN INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IN CREATING DIGITAL CONTENT FROM SHORT ANIMATIONS TO LONG-FORM, DOCUMENTARY-STYLE VIDEOS APPEALING TO BOTH THE ENGINEERING AND MARKETING SECTORS.

IN HER COLLEGE YEARS SHE SPECIALIZED IN MOTION GRAPHICS CREATION, CLIMATE CHANGE AWARENESS, AND THE INTERSECTION OF AUGMENTED REALITY TECHNOLOGIES, ACTIVISM AND STORYTELLING.

I am a visual storyteller, utilizing various tools and software to weave videos and graphics to cater to different audiences. This may mean crafting the wording in a presentation, adding graphics that animate onto a map, or filming subject matter experts to educate the public.

I enjoy traveling, making and eating great food, and learning about how I can create more art and tell more stories every day.

My capabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proven track record managing the video production process through the development/ideation, pre-production, production, post-production, and promotion/distribution phases

  • Strong production skills including videography, audio recording, and lighting

  • Communicating with clients on budgets, schedules, and progress reports

  • Experience managing direct reports and contracted editors, producers, and agencies

  • Conducting interviews with video subjects on location

  • Creating web-friendly motion graphics and animations for storytelling

  • Producing animated maps based on geospatial data and engineering designs

  • Writing scripts and copy for social media

  • Recommending and implementing updates and improvements based on new production technology, creative formats and animation/graphic trends

I consider myself to be more of a Swiss army knife when it comes to content creation, and have experienced all aspects of media creation due to being the only subject-matter specialist in video at my company. I also tend to gravitate towards the new and exciting practices professionals have in the industry, so you might catch me on my Instagram posting a rough graphic or animation with some trending technique.

I continue to train myself in new software and technology whenever I can, and have previously learned through School of Motion and Motion Design School. At Stevens Institute of Technology, I specialized in motion graphics creation, environmental awareness, the intersection of augmented reality technologies, activism, and storytelling. I was formally educated and received a BE in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in Visual Arts and Technology in 4.5 years. I also completed a term with Semester at Sea in 2014 when it was hosted by the University of Virginia.
